2018 Special Award Recipients



Retiring Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Smith was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the Wakefield Public Schools, with special guests' reflections and an award created in her name.
















The Dr. Kimberly Smith Excellence in Education Award, in honor of outgoing Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Smith, was awarded for the first time, to Galvin Middle School Principal Adam Colantuoni.
















Elizabeth Russell of WEF and Superintendent Dr. Kim Smith proudly presented the district-wide Impact Award to Catherine Dhingra (center) in recognition of the significant impact that she has had in our school district and our community

April 12, 2018 marked Wakefield Educational Foundation's (WEF) 22nd Annual Celebration of Learning Ceremony and Reception. The evening honored students, volunteers, community members and Wakefield Public School staff who foster excellence in their respective schools. Congratulations and thank you, honorees! 


District-wide Special Awards are also given to a select few. This year marked a first, with the founding of the Dr. Kimberly Smith Excellence in Education Award, in honor of outgoing Superintendent of Schools, Kimberly Smith. In attendance were two surprise guest speakers to recognize Dr. Smtih, A.J. Beebe, Director of Guidance at Wakefield Memorial High School, and former Superintendent, Dr. Steve Zrike.
