The purpose of the WEF Mini-Grant Program is to establish a means whereby funding for educational enrichment programs can be secured when such funds cannot otherwise be obtained.
The subject matter to which a grant can be applied must impact on a group of students in the Wakefield Public Schools. The group may be as small as a single class or as large as the total school population (K-12). Stand-alone grant requests are encouraged, but a request for a large-scale program, that can be divided, will be considered.
We strongly encourage Environmental Science programs which can be funded through the Gertrude Spaulding Fund for Environmental Field Studies. This grant is available for hands-on learning experiences in the field of environmental studies.
All teachers, teacher aides, librarians, department heads, principals, assistant principals and PTO presidents within the Wakefield School Department may apply.
The value of the grant will generally be up to $500 each or multi-staff/multi-department grants of up to $2500.
